Sixteen die in car accident in the Ashanti Region of Ghana

At least 16 people died Sunday when a bus hit a taxi cab on a bridge over River Offin in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, dragging it into the river, police said. There were at least seven survivors, including the two drivers, police sources said, adding that the cause of the accident was being investigated. The search for bodies in the river is continuing, with the assistance of the Ghana National Fire Service and National Disaster Management organisation, while the injured are receiving attention at a local hospital.
