French national gets 12 year prison term in Mauritius for smuggling drugs

A Mauritian tribunal Monday sentenced a French national, Lionnel Chamboolle, 60, to 12 years in prison and a US$ 7200 fine for the possession of 2.5 kg of heroin. Mr. Chamboolle, a trained medical doctor and engineer, was arrested upon his arrival at the Port Louis airport May 1st, with the drugs stashed in his luggage.
