The Gambian State Department of Justice has sacked two high court judges, judicial sources confirmed Monday. According to the sources, Justices Haddy Roche and Bobaccarr Y. Camara were handed their termination letters 12 July 2008, which stated that they had been relieved from active service but gave no reason for the action. Camara was appointed 1 July 2008 as high court judge from the post of Principal Magistrate at the Banjul Magistrate’s Court and he had served as a magistrate in many magistrate’s courts in the country. Roche served as a magistrate in many parts of the country, having started at Kanifing Magistrate’s court.
