Top Ghanaian-Lebanese musician, Faisal Helwani, dies

A top Ghanaian music producer of Lebanese descent, Faisal Helwani, died in Lebanon on Sunday after a short illness, his colleague musician s said on Monday. Helwani, who championed the cause of musicians for decades, was flown to Lenabon for medical treatment. Helwani, a composer, sound engineer and producer, worked with music top Ghanaian musicians such as E.T. Mensah, Onipa Nua, Hedzole and Koo Nimo, and South Africa’s Hugh Masekala. Another musician, Carlos Sakyi said his death had left a great void.
