Reacting to a story that a Nigerian, Mr Bello Abubakar in Niger State was married to 86 women and had 170 children, he said he supported the verdict given by Nigeria’s Islamic Authority Jamatu Nasril Islaamic (JNI), which has told Mr Abubakar to choose only four wives and repent else he would face the death sentence. Mr Abubakar has challenged Muslim scholars, saying there is no punishment stated in the Quoran for having more than four wives but advised men not to follow his example and marry 86 women.
