Several dozen alleged Islamist terrorists were on Sunday night transferred from a military barracks in Nouakchott to a civilian prison located near the law court, judicial sources confirmed on Monday. The transfer of the alleged terrorists, following the completion of renovation work at the prison, took place under tight supervision of security forces, the sources said. Forty alleged Islamist terrorists, including those accused of attacking and killing four French tourists in December 2007, were among those transferred on Sunday evening.
