Mauritius sacks national football coach

The Mauritius Football Association (MFA) Thursday dismissed the national football coach, Ashok Chundunsing, due to the team’s string of poor performances under his watch. In a statement issued in Port-Louis, MFA said a new coach would be appointed for the team at a later date. At the head of the national team since September 2007, Chundunsing won no game, lost eight and drew three. Mauritius will play its next match in the joint 2010 African Cup of Nations/World Cup qualifiers away to Cameroon 11 October.
