The Libyan authorities have arrested a group of Libyans for possessing 400 kg of hashish, official sources announced on Wednesday. The Libyan bureau for the fight against narcotics and psychotropic drugs said the arrests were made on the coastal road connecting Benghazi to Tripoli. The sources said the drug was hidden in a tank in a freezer wagon, adding that another vehicle, which was asked to assist the truck was also impounded. Huge efforts are being made to eradicate drug and its use in Libya where it is regarded as a “weapon of massive destruction”.
