Two-time African Champions League winner Enyimba football club of Nigeria will get 1 million naira (US$8,500) for every goal its scores in Sunday’s first-leg, semi-final clash against Al Ahly of Egypt in the 2008 edition of the prestigious club competition, the local press reported Saturday. ”Beat these Egyptians with as many as four goals and get 4 million naira (US$34,000) instantly,” the private Guardian newspaper quoted Governor Theodore Orji of the South-east Abia state – which owns the club – as saying while addressing the players Friday. Enyimba has won every home game in the group stage of the competition and conceded only one goal in its home city of Aba. Al Ahly beat Enyimba 1-0 in Aba in a match in the competition three years ago, but the Nigerians are hopeful they could get a sweet revenge on Sunday. The other semi-final will pitch Dynamos FC of Zimbabwe against Coton Sport of Cameroon at the Rufaro Stadium in Harare also on Sunday.
