Libyan soccer championship to begin on Friday

Matches in Libya’s first division national soccer championship for the 2008-2009 season will begin Friday with the participation of 14 teams, sources close to Libya’s sports circles revealed Thursday. Three games are planned for Friday, with four matches Saturday.

Fixtures for Friday: Al-Akhdhar versus Al-Tourssana Al-Wifaq versus Olympique Al-Ahli Tripoli versus Al-Ahli Benghazi

Fixtures for Saturday: Al-Jazira versus Al-Hilal Al-Madina versus Sweihli Al-Wihda versus Club de la sûreté public Al-Ittihad versus Al-Naser
