Eleven people lost their lives while several houses were destroyed when floods ravaged the province of Nador, North-eastern Morocco, in the early hours of Friday. Nador has experienced devastating floods, in particular in the Driouch region wh ere scores of houses had been levelled while many others were flooded. Already, the government has mobilised to help the affected people and repair the destroyed infrastructures while the units of the Royal Armed Forces (RAF) have been put on alert to help. Since the beginning of October, the Northern regions, as well as those of the South of Morocco, have experienced heavy rainfalls which have caused floods and the death of several people. In Tanger (north), torrential rains Friday caused the death of one person and the destruction of several properties. Labourers could not get access into their factories located in a flooded industr ial area of the city of Tanger, where the level of water has exceeded 1.50 metres. According to the national meteorologists, up to the night of Friday and Saturday, rains and stormy showers will continue on the northern part of the Kingdom.
