The disciplinary commission of world football governing body, FIFA, has handed Cameroonian player Alexandre Song Billong a three-match suspension and a 5,000 Swiss francs fine for “incorrect behaviour” in their 2010 World Cup/CAN qualifying match played against Cape Verde on 6 September. Song Billong, who plays for English premiership side Arsenal, was sent off in the 93rd minute of the game for striking and injuring a Cape Verdian player in the match won by Cameroon 2-1, official sources said on Friday. He will therefore be missing the first three matches of the next round of the qualifiers which starts on 28 March 2009. Cameroon will play against Togo, Morocco and Gabon in their group.
