State-owned Air Zimbabwe said Tuesday it planned to start flying to Teheran, the Iranian capital, shortly as part of a search for new profitable routes. Joachim Bango, the head of air transport at the airline, said the national carrier would be flying five times a week to Teheran. He said the move follows the signing of a bilateral air services agreement between the two countries. Air Zimbabwe has expanded its regional and international destinations in recent years, adding countries such as DR Congo, China, Dubai and others. It said the move was intended to compensate for low business at home, where the local economy has shrunk by around 80 percent in the last few years.
