The Burkinabe, Jean-Baptiste Bassono, who officiated the match between Cote d’Ivoire and Niger in Group B, has been suspended from the EUMOA soccer tournament for committing serious errors during the match. Bassono admitted to an imaginary penalty for Cote d’Ivoire, just five minutes before the end of the match, while the two teams were level 1-1. The Nigeriens had left the football field in protest and they returned after 15 minutes only to see their opponents taking the penalty, making them the winners of the match, 2-1. The eight teams taking part in the tournament are represented each by a referee and an assistant.
