President of Gambia resumes his controversial medical treatments

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has resumed his controversial treatment programme with the third batch of over 700 hypertension patients, sources confirmed Tuesday. At the commencement of the programme at the State House Monday, Jammeh reportedly thanked Allah (God) for enabling him to treat the ailment. Jammeh, now referred to as ‘Professor’, claimed to have discovered a cure for HI V/AIDS and a host of other diseases like diabetics, infertility among others in 2007. Since then, he has set up a clinic and continued to treat patients suffering fro m HIV/AIDS, asthma and others, attracting lots of criticisms among some scientists and the medical world.
