Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh swore in the newly-appointed Health Secretary (Minister), Dr Mariatou Jallow on Friday with a warning to ministers to either work or quit. “You either work or you leave. Enough is enough!” Jammeh warned. “When I give you the yellow card once, the next one will be a red card. I am sick and tired of working with people who are not sincere yet they still want to gain money,” sources at State House in the Gambian capital, Banjul, confirmed. Dr Jallow was recently named as the new health minister following the dismissal of Malick Njie. Ministerial dismissals have been very frequent in Gambian since President Jammeh assumed the presidency through a bloodless coup in 1994 and later transformed himself into a civilian leader in subsequent elections.
