Ex Comoros PM Hamadi Madi Bolero arrested

Former Comoran Prime Minister Hamadi Madi Bolero was arrested Thursday at the Mohéli Airport following an arrest warrant issued against him last January, police sources indicated Friday. Serving first as private secretary, Bolero was appointed Prime Minister by Colonel Azali Assoumani. When Assoumani stepped down in May 2006, Bolero ran into trouble with the authorities for taking away the state-owned furniture he was using in his official residence. After taking refuge for two years in France, Bolero was arrested while accompanying home the body of his cousin, former sportsman Mohamed Soilihi, who died last week in Paris, the French capital.
