Somalia gets two Prime Ministers as President overlooks parliamentary vote

Despite a majority 7-1 vote by Somalia’s parliament to back the country’s Prime Minister, Nur Hassan Hussein, and render his sacking by the President, Abdullahi Yusuf, illegal, another person, Mohamed Mahamud, has been appointed to take the place of PM. The country, which has not had a functioning national government for 17 years, now has two Prime Ministers. IGAD, Intergovernmental Authority on Development an organisation of six eastern African countries chaired by Kenya, says it will not recognize the new PM.
