Usain Bolt named 2008 Champion of Champions

Jamaican sprinter and triple Olympic champion (100m, 200m and 4x100m), Usain Bolt, has been named the Champion of Champions by the French sports daily L’Equipe. The 21 year old was placed ahead of Michael Phelps, summer Olympic gold medal record holder — with 8 gold medals won at the 2008 Olympic games alone, bringing his total number of gold medals to 14. Raphael Nadal, the world number one tennis player from Spain was third while Lewis Hamilton, British formula one racing driver, came fifth.
