Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf, accused of being a “stumbling block to peace” by Members of Parliament is to appear before the country’s parliament. According to the BBC, a vote to start impeachment proceedings has been leveled against him. This comes only a day after he overlooked parliamentary confidence vote in favour of Prime Minister Nur, whom he had dismissed, and appointed a new Prime Minister. To succeed, the motion for impeachment needs a two-thirds majority.
