Barack Obama has been named Time Magazine’s person of the year 2008. The magazine comments on, Barack Obama, a man who only two years ago was unknown to half of the American people and whose chances at becoming president was doubted by his own campaign manager at the outset. He is described as a talented person who “possesses a rare ability to read the imperatives and possibilities of each new moment and organize himself and others to anticipate change and translate it into opportunity”
