LRA Rebel leader narrowly escapes death

Head of Lords Resistance Army (LRA) Joseph Kony is reported to have narrowly escaped death from a joint Uganda–Sudan military operation. According to the spokesperson for the operation, Captain Chris Magezi, the rebel leader left the camp moments before the air strike. The armed Ugandan forces have been trying to identify the dead bodies, but according to Oryem Okello, Ugandan minister of international affairs, if Kony was among those killed it “would already be known”. JDD confirms that the joint offensive started in the Garamba national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, last Sunday.
