Withdrawal of Ethiopian forces from Somalia to be delayed

Kabinga Pande, President of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union and also Foreign affairs minister of the Zambian government, Monday, indicated that Ethiopia could prolong its troops’ presence in Somalia until January 5. The delay is to permit the AU peacekeeping forces receive the necessary reinforcements. The Ethiopian government had announced earlier that the withdrawal of their troops had been scheduled to take place before the end of the year.
