Zimbabwe will hold a referendum and fresh elections, says Mugabe

Zimbabwe is set to organise a constitutional referendum followed by fresh general elections in about two years. President Robert Mugabe made the announcement in an interview published Thursday by the state newspaper, The Herald. According to the octogenarian, the present government will not remain a permanent coalition government, referring to the recent coalition government formed with his rival, Morgan Tsvangirai.
