
United Nations special envoy to Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, Wednesday ended his tour of the Maghreb in the Algerian capital, Algiers, on a positive note. During a press conference in Algiers, the UN official indicated that he had held serious, frank and useful talks with the Algerian authorities as well as the countrys president, Bouteflika, El Watan has announced. Christopher Ross will continue to Madrid, Paris and Washington where he will meet with top officials. He also met with the Moroccan King, Mohammed IV in Rabat before meeting with Sahrawi officials at the Tindouf refugee camps in the south of Algeria. Christopher Toss mission has been seeking to bring Morocco and the Polisario Front back to the negotiating table for direct talks, under the auspices of the UN, since 2007.
