Madagascar: Two dead as security forces disperse demonstrators

Two persons died and several others were wounded, Thursday, at Fianarantsoa (410 km south of the capital, Antananarivo), as security agents on the southern African island dispersed opposition demonstrators, RFI has reported.

The demonstration took place three days after failed negotiations between Marc Ravalomanana’s, the head of state, and the former mayor of Antananarivo, Andry Rajoelina, was announced.

The opposition has called for another demonstration on Saturday.
