Algeria: Bouteflika announces a 50% increase in student scholarship fund

Algerian President, Bouteflika has announced that Algerian students will benefit from a 50% increase in their scholarship funds, beginning of the next academic term, indicated El Watan. Unemployed doctorate graduates will also be receive an amount of 12 000 DA per month. The measure is expected to cost the national treasury “over 1.4 billion dinars per annum”, the president confirmed. Campaigning for the next presidential elections have begun in Algeria. President Bouteflika is standing for a third term in office.
