Ivory Coast: economists call for CFA franc links to the Euro to be severed

Fahé Mauritius, an Ivorian economist, Thursday called on the political authorities of the West African Francophone Monetary Union (UEMOA) to break ties
with the fixed exchange rate between the CFA franc and the Euro. He made the declaration during festivities marking the 49 year celebration of the Guinean franc, Abidjan TV has reported. According to Dr Fahé one can not really talk independence if there is no economic sovereignty
