A Nigerian trafficker in human parts, Jakson Ekoule, was arrested in the Cameroonian town of Nkapa, about 20 kilometres from Douala, the country’s economic capital, police sources indicated Thursday. “We have had information that many tombs were being desecrated in the region. So we laid ambush and caught Jakson Ekoule red handed,” said Colonel Nguete Nguete, Commander of the Mungo military police force in Nkongsamba. According to police sources, Ekoule, whose residence card showed that he was a Nigerian citizen, was carrying a bag containing the parts of a human skeleton. Human parts trafficking, a common phenomenon in Cameroon, is mainly practised in the central, coastal, and western regions of the country.
