Pope Benedict XVI arrived Friday in Angola, Angola Press has reported.
The country is the second to welcome the Pope on his African tour, which has been disrupted due to the pontiff’s controversial position on the use of condoms in the fight against AIDS.
The last papal visit in Angola was in 1992 when John Paul II took advantage of a civil war truce (1975-2002) to visit the African country.
