Tunisia: Ben Ali to allow foreign observers to monitor elections

The Tunisian President, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, Friday assured foreign observers that they will be allowed to monitor the country’s presidential and legislative elections to be held next October, according to the Nouvel Observateur. “We will allow observers from Tunisia brother countries and friends to a brother or friend, to follow the progress and outcome of these elections,” said the head of state, according to the same source.
