DRC: Vital Khamerhe, Speaker of National Assembly, resigns

The President of the Congolese National Assembly was disowned and forced to resign by his own political party. This action comes as a result of Vital Kamerhe’s fierce opposition to allow the entry of Rwandan soldiers on Congolese soil (North Kivu) alongside the Congolese Armed Forces (FARDC), to root out Rwandan Hutu rebels of the FDLR (Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda), Afrique Echos recalls.
