Ghana: Disappointed visa applicant behind Italian embassy bomb scare

A temporary closure of the Italian Embassy in Accra on Monday after a bomb scare which led the police to comb the premises for the device turned out to be a hoax. According to the police, a disappointed visa applicant made the threat to blow up the embassy through a phone call. The threat was not treated lightly as dozens of police personnel from the Intelligence Unit were sent to the premises to ensure security.
