Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has invited the new Israeli leader to visit Egypt, the Israeli Embassy in Cairo said in a statement. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has just reported of a phone conversation between President Mubarak and PM Netanyahu this evening, the statement read. During the conversation, President Mubarak invited the Israeli Prime Minister to meet with him in Sharm El Sheikh, the statement added. The Embassy said Netanyahu accepted the invitation and emphasized the vital need to continue the peace between the two countries. The meeting which has not yet been scheduled is to “take place in the near future”.
