
Marc Ona Essangui, a Gabonese, has been awarded the Goldman Environmental price, the equivalent of the Nobel prize for environmental protection. He fought against the exploitation of iron mine in Belinga, north-east of Gabon in a national park and the construction of an airport north of Libreville, the Gabonese capital, in the forest of Mondah.
