Zimbabwe: UK, Commonwealth countries, Japan, Germany and the United States lift travel ban

Three months after main political parties in Zimbabwe formed a unity government, the Commonwealth and the UK have moved to lift a travel ban — imposed several years ago because of long running politically motivated violence — on their nationals to Zimbabwe, citing improving security in the southern African country. Zimbabwe tourism Minister Walter Mzembi has welcomed the decision by Britain and the Commonwealth. The European Union is expected to follow soon. In the past few weeks, Japan, Germany and the United States have lifted their own travel bans on Zimbabwe.
