Africa: Swine Flu A/H1N1 — suspected case in Benin

A 25 year old European expatriate who showed symptoms similar to A/H1N1 symptoms established by the World Health Organization (WHO) has been isolated in Benin. According to reports, she was in Mexico (the suspected origin of the epidemic) during the month of April. According to the Beninese Minister of Public Health, Issifou Takpara “investigations are underway to confirm the case and tests are also being carried out on three other persons who may have been in contact with the patient.”
