Twenty-four think tanks in East and West Africa will receive a grant of nearly $30 billion as part of an initiative to support locally designed development policies. The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates who are the main donors made the announcement on Tuesday. Their goal, according to ReussirBusiness Tuesday, is to support independent organizations based in developing countries to help them produce sound research that could inspire national policies.
