A footballer from an amateur club was sentenced Tuesday to four months in prison, one hundred hours of community service and 1 700 euros in damages for racism against a black opponent. The verdict was rendered by a court in Ain (south-eastern France). The victim, Makam Traoré, 32, who plays with the club Roussillon was called “dirty negro” and “dirty monkey” by his opponent, said RFI.
