Niger: President Tandja appoints a new Constitutional Court

Tandja Mamadou, president of Niger, Wednesday evening appointed a new Constitutional Court chaired by Boubé Omarou, former Minister of Justice and the Supreme Court, BBC Africa has indicated. Last Monday, the head of state dissolved the Constitutional Court, which opposed his plan for a referendum to amend the constitution to enable him remain in power.
