The Algerian cabinet decided Tuesday that the country’s Thursday-Friday weekend will be replaced by a Friday-Saturday weekend from August 14, 2009. The Algerian authorities set up the Thursday-Friday weekend some 70 years ago, but the country has suffered economic setbacks for not observing the universally approved weekend. The north African nation benefits from only three days of international operations.
