Madagascar: Andry Rajoelina ends negotiations

Andry Rajoelina, President of the High Transitional Authority (HAT) of Madagascar, said Saturday that he was ending negotiations for the establishment of a transitional power, L’Express de Madagascar has reported. His opponents have called his statements “irresponsible”, arguing he risks severing the country’s ties with international partners who have called for dialogue. The International Contact Group (ICG) decided Thursday to hold a meeting with main Malagasy political parties in Mozambique, early August.
