Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, declared, during a conference with the Pakistani Foreign Minister yesterday, that the Guinean military junta “cannot remain in power,” reports Guineenews. She called the massacre, which took place in Conakry on September 28th, an outrage and she affirmed that “the indiscriminate killing and raping that took place under government control by government troops was a vile violation of the rights of the people of that country.” According to Johnnie Carson, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, the US government “intends to pursue appropriate actions” against the military leadership and work with its allies, including France and Burkina Faso, to solve this matter.
