According to the AFP, Ugandan authorities have released Somalia’s junior Defense Minister, Youssul Mohamed Siad, saying his detention was a ‘misunderstanding.’ Mr. Siad, a former Islamist warlord, was arrested following a tip-off that a Somali rebel had entered the country. The Defense Minister’s family lives in Uganda.
