At the opening of the Zimbabwe parliament yesterday, President Robert Mugabe voiced his wish to enter into fresh, friendly and cooperative relations with all the countries that have been hostile to his nation in the past, stated The Guardian.
The remarks show a shift from Mugabe’s usual critical tone.
However, he also requested that the EU and the US lift all the sanctions that have targeted his government and “hurt his people.”
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), does not believe the President’s discourse is not enough. They demand that the President puts his words into actions.
