Nigeria’s former vice-president Atiku Abubakar is included on the list of major bank debtors, released by the Central Bank. According to the list, Mr. Abubakar owes about $1 million and names 600 others who owe a total of $2.5 billion. GhanaBusinessNews said that Nigeria’s new central bank head, Sanusi Lamido has vowed to clean up the banking system in Nigeria. In a recent interview with the BBC, he declared that he was not afraid to do the right thing and he would continue with the crusade to save the Nigerian banking system from collapsing.
