Guinea-USA: US backs Guinea arms embargo

The United States declared on Tuesday that it “strongly supports” a West African embargo against Guinea. According to Mail&Guardian, The US government said it backed moves by members of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) to sanction Guinea considering the deadly massacre that took place on September 28th. “The United States strongly supports the Ecowas decision to impose an arms embargo on Guinea and to work with the African Union to develop a regime of targeted sanctions against individuals,” a statement from the White House said.
