The African Union (AU) announced that Madagascar’s leaders will meet next week in an attempt to seal a power-sharing deal aimed at restoring constitutional order. According to Mail&Guardian, ousted leader Marc Ravalomanana has continued to reject any deal that sees Andry Rajoelina’s hold on the presidency on the Indian Ocean Island, eyed by major foreign companies for its oil and mineral resources. The meeting will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on November 3 to 5.
