According to the African Press Agency, voting is underway today Thursday, following the closing of polling booths yesterday evening, as the country’s Election Commission (CNE) pronounced the process as incident-free after long queues took over the streets at polling stations around the country. Leopoldo da Costa, CNE chairperson said that as far as he could see, the country’s elections have proceeded “normally.” It appears that this year’s elections attracted a high number of voters, especially first-time voters, who hope to bring change in Mozambique, as the country still struggles after 16 years of civil war.
