Zambia’s economy is expected to grow by 6.3 per cent in 2009, driven by strong growth in the agriculture, mining, construction and other sectors, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) said on Thursday. The CSO said in a statement that inflation slowed to 12.3 percent year on year in October from 13.0 per cent in September, due to lower food prices. The Finance Ministry has projected growth of 4.2 per cent for this year, according to Reuters.
